			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By and large, wall ball is the way to go if you&#8217;re looking to really step up your game.</p>
<p>Find a brick or cement wall that&#8217;s wide and tall enough, set yourself up with an ipod and set a time limit.  ie &#8220;I&#8217;m going to spend 25 minutes at the wall today.&#8221;    Once you set your time, decide to make the most of the time you have.</p>
<p>Do 3 sets of everything you do.</p>
<p>ie.</p>
<p>3x (30 catches right hand, 30 catches left hand)</p>
<p>3x (30 quicksticks overhand righty, 30 quicksticks overhand lefty)</p>
<p>3x (30 sidearm righty with a cradle, 30 sidearm lefty with a cradle)</p>
<p>3x(30 sidearm righty quicksticks, 30 sidearm lefty quicksticks)</p>
<p>3x (30 weakside catches/reverse throws righty, 30 weakside catches/reverse throws lefty)</p>
<p>There are many more examples of skills you can practice, like over the shoulder catches, behind the back, around the world, one handed&#8230;..but this should be plenty to get you started.</p>
<p>If 30 catches is too much or too little, adjust it to a point that you can handle while still challenging yourself.</p>
<p>Whenever you practice, push yourself so that it&#8217;s not a waste of time,  If you push yourself and challenge your body and mind, you will always be improving.  Little steps&#8230;.you can&#8217;t reach your ultimate goal overnight.  It&#8217;s going to take lots of little consistent steps to get there.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tryouts start March 1st for most lax teams on LI.  That means there&#8217;s around 130 days left until tryouts.  A TON of time if you&#8217;re willing and ready to put the work in to really take your game to the next level before tryouts.</p>
<p>LAXimum Performance will be hosting Winter Training Sessions for grades 5-8 and 9-12 at St. Anthony&#8217;s High School in the new Indoor Turf Stadium.  Sessions will run through December and January.  Keep checking the website, dates will be posted next week.</p>
<p>Remember, even as little as 20 minutes a day of wall ball and intensive stickwork can make a difference.  If you make the effort to make the time, you will reap the benefits come lax season!</p>
